China’s insecticide production experienced substantial increase in May

  According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS), in May 2017, China produced 325,467 tons of pesticide, down regulated 2.7% compared to the same period last year. This is the third consecutive month that the domestic pesticide production experienced decline.
  In May, except herbicide production, insecticide and fungicide’s production experienced substantial increase by 32% and 18.4% to 58,503 tons and 21,123 tons respectively. Herbicide production continued to decline by 12% to 130,938 tons on a y-o-y basis. 

  From Jan toMay 2017, China produced a total of 1,549,732 tons pesticide, decreased 3.7% comparing to the same period last year. Herbicide production declined most by 13.6% to 684,252 tons. Insecticide production increased 7.4% to 265,903 tons. Fungicide production increased most by 17.5%, reaching 99,674 tons in the period.
